Anna Pou van den Bossche (Barcelona, 1972) is a professor at the International University of Catalonia and a distinguished curator specializing in digital and immersive art. She currently serves as curator at the IDEAL Digital Arts Center in Barcelona, where she has conceived and directed numerous acclaimed immersive exhibitions, including Barcelona Memòria Fotogràfica (2019) and Dalí Cibernètic (2022), produced in collaboration with the Gala Salvador Dalí Foundation. These projects garnered prestigious recognitions such as the Què Fem Award for Best Museum Initiative and the Revolution 4.0 Award for Innovation and Digital Transformation (2022), among others.

She also curated the Casa Amatller Digital Museum—now the Amatller Art Center—in 2023, and has collaborated with the Palamós Town Council on projects including Joan Puig, l’art de col·leccionar (2020), which was also exhibited at the Museu del Suro de Catalunya, Palafrugell (2023), and Joaquim Comes: The Emotion of Color (2023).

Professor Pou is currently engaged in doctoral research for her thesis titled Dalí and Cybernetics. Initial findings have been disseminated through scholarly publications and academic forums, including her article “Salvador Dalí and Cybernetics,” published in Emerging Readings in the Fields of Science, Technology and Technique, Social Sciences Collection en Abierto (Peter Lang, 2024). She has also presented her research at conferences such as “Dalí, the Thinking Machine,” part of the Reformulant Dalí lecture series (2024), jointly organized by the Dalí Foundation and the Institut d’Humanitats on the occasion of the exhibition IA: Artificial Intelligence at the CCCB. Her studies on Dalí and science were further elaborated in Dalí_Art_Ciència_Cibernètica (It Brings Art, 2023), with a foreword by Montse Aguer.

She earned her degree in Art History from the University of Barcelona (UB) in 1996 and was awarded a Ministry of Education and Science Research Training Grant to pursue a Master’s degree in Thought, Theory and Debate in Twentieth-Century Art (UB, 2000). During this period, she participated in academic research groups such as Tautologías del Arte Contemporáneo and Arte y Belleza en el Siglo XX.

Parallel to her curatorial practice, she has conducted significant research on Francisco de Goya. Her publications include Los mundos de Goya (with Joan Sureda; Lunwerg, 2009), Los Caprichos (La Central, 2011), and contributions to the exhibition catalogue Goya e Italia (Zaragoza Museum; Gobierno de Aragón and Diputación Provincial de Zaragoza, 2008). Additionally, she has contributed to the cataloguing of public art in Barcelona through her work with Art Públic, the City Council’s online archive of public art.

Professor Anna Pou  has devoted a significant part of her career to the dissemination of art and culture through both print and broadcast media. She has contributed to renowned editorial projects such as Museos del Mundo (Planeta Agostini, 2005, for La Vanguardia), Grans Genis de l’Art Català (Ciro, 2009, for La Vanguardia)—for which she authored the monographs on Pablo Picasso, Eliseu Meifrèn, and Josep Amat—and Grandes Genios del Arte (Ciro, 2010, for El Mundo), where she penned the volumes on Manolo Valdés and Lucio Muñoz. Additionally, she has written articles for the cultural platform El Temps de les Arts (2019–2020).

Her commitment to public engagement has extended into audiovisual media, where she has participated regularly as an art expert, content creator, and presenter. Her appearances include programs such as La Tarda (Catalunya Ràdio), Tot Art (betevé), Àrtic (betevé), This is Art (TV3), and Planta Baixa (TV3), among others.

In 2000, Professor Pou van den Bossche founded Àgora Serveis Culturals, a company specializing in educational and interpretive services for major cultural institutions, including La Pedrera, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, the Museu Picasso, CaixaForum, the Sagrada Família, and the Museum of the History of Catalonia.

Her pedagogical expertise has been widely recognized, leading to her involvement in teacher training programs at prestigious institutions such as the Escola Rosa Sensat, the University of Girona, the Col·legi de Doctors i Llicenciats en Filosofia i Lletres de Catalunya, the Pädagogisches Institut München, and the universities of Augsburg and Nuremberg. From 2004 to 2013, she served as a professor at the Instituto Cervantes in Munich, where she also designed and directed the interdisciplinary project Ars et Cervantes in collaboration with the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen—including the Alte Pinakothek, Neue Pinakothek, and Pinakothek der Moderne—and the Bavarian Education Authority.

Furthermore, she has led educational initiatives for institutions such as the Arranz-Bravo Foundation and the Vila Casas Foundation and has conducted numerous professional development programs for Catalonia’s official tourist guides and university extension classrooms.
